T-Pain Stopped Taking Credit For His Country Music Songs Because Of Racism

T-Pain recently revealed on TikTok that he’s written several country songs for other artists but stopped taking credit for songs due to the racism that he’s experienced.

The rapper expressed his appreciation for the genre, saying, “Country music is where I get all my harmonies, country and gospel music. That’s were all my harmonies come from.”

However, he added, “I done wrote a lot of country songs. Stopped taking credit for it because, as cool as it is to see your name in those credits and s— like that, the racism that comes after it is just like, ‘I'll just take the check.'”

T-Pain has said in interviews that he previously wrote for Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Rhett Akins and Dallas Davidson.
