Beyonce Becomes First Black Woman With No. 1 Country Song

Beyonce has become the first Black woman in modern music history to top the Billboard Hot Country Chart thanks to her new single, “Texas Hold 'Em.” The song also debuted at No. 2 on the overall Hot 100, just behind Jack Harlow's “Lovin On Me,” which remained in the top spot for its sixth non-consecutive week.

“Texas Hold 'Em” dethroned Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves’ hit “I Remember Everything” on the Hot Country Chart, where it had lead for 20 weeks. Beyonce's other new country single, “16 Carriages,” debuted on the same chart at No. 9.

Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival” entered the Hot 100 at No. 3 this week, Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” backtracked to No. 4, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” fell to No. 5.
