Nate Smith’s New Single, “Fix What You Didn’t Break,” Is A Power Ballad Celebrating Sensitive Guys

Nate Smith’s first three singles, “Whiskey On You,” “World On Fire” and “Bulletproof,” all reached Top 5 on the Country Airplay chart. His new song, “Fix What You Didn’t Break,” is a departure from those post-breakup anthems, with Smith taking a sensitive turn at a power ballad that celebrates a woman trying to inspire a man to better his  life. “It’s kind of scary when you put your first kind of ballad out there,” Smith admits. “But I do love this song so much. Guys are more sensitive than we get credit.” Smith partnered with the songwriting team of Ashley Gorley and Taylor Phillips at producer Lindsay Rimes’ home studio, with Gorley wanting to coax a new sound out of Smith. “Our goal is not just to try to get a song on them, but to have a hand in what they should do next,” Gorley says. “Fix What You Didn’t Break” was released by RCA Nashville to country radio on October 28, and debuted at No. 60 on this week’s Country Airplay Chart.
